SUNWILL is part of the international textile group F. Engel K/S, a family owned company which is today run by fourth generation.
F. ENGEL was founded 1927 by Carl J. Engel when the production of wear-resisting work wear was started in a for the Danes quite unknown quality. The idea struck him during a visit in the US where he saw the denim work wear that the builders were wearing. He returned to Denmark bringing along a pair of overalls that became the start of the company F. Engel.
1964 F. ENGEL entered the fashion industry and extended the production with men's pants under the brand name IN-CA. Later on further a brand named Easy Line was added to the assortment, and 1990 the rival brand by name SUNWILL was purchased. Today SUNWILL is the main brand within the men’s trousers division.
On the work wear side the assortment has also been extended with the purchase of the state-owned WORKZONE work wear. Carl Engel's great passion for hunting resulted 1985 in the commencement of production of the exclusive hunting wear called Deerhunter. Consequently, F. ENGEL is today divided into three strong and independent divisions:
- the work wear division
- the men's wear division
- and the leisure wear division
Fundamental for the continued existence of the company F. Engel is its ability to keep up with the times and ensure continuous development without compromising with the well-known strong quality.
Today F. Engel has approx. 160 employees in Denmark, and besides the production in Denmark the company also has its own factories in Lithuania.
